Agra - Bareilly Special Train Stopped Running

Saturday, August 8, 2009
As I recall, Indian railways started Agra - Bareilly Special train on Agra - Bareilly route 3 times a week in May 2009, but due to low availabilty of passenger finally decided to leave the passenger with only available option of +BE LTT EXPRESS (train no. 4314) running from Bareilly on Saturdays (10:45) and returning back on Tuesday (07:55) from Agra. In addition to it a passenger train also runs on this route, but due to safety reasons and time taken, its of no use.

That Agra-Bareilly Special was of great importance for a journey to central and southern India, as one don't have to go Delhi to catch the train from there. It actually saved around 5 hours and no tension of switching the railway station to catch the central and southern India bound trains.

Pathetic BSNL BroadBand in Bareilly

Thursday, March 19, 2009
Its almost more than a year since I am using BSNL Broadband service, not because its the Best for me (as Preity Zinta says "BSNL hai BEST merein Liye"), but the only Broadband service provider in Bareilly. Before coming back to Bareilly I used Spectranet 's Broadband service for 3 months and as far as I recall its not even once my net got disconnected. But over here in Bareilly, I really don't recall a single day when my net not disconnected. I know how people curse me when I am playing multi player game on Internet as it will ruin the all game if one player disconnects and to avoid being kicked from games, I keep on changing my nick from Lord Voldermort to BraZook or kobu.

Before using BSNL I was using AIRTEL Data card and I was fully satisfied with it as it was the only provider who offered me unlimited downloads for Rs 999 per month at the speed of about 15 kbps, not really bad if you don't have any other option. I first applied for BSNL Broadband in Oct 2007 but as you already know Govt. services, I ended up buying a Airtel data card worth Rs 5000 because I was in great need of Internet at home. well then again I applied for it in Nov. 2007 and got the connection in January 2008.
I got the connection but again BSNL people did their Job and instead of providing me with 900 unlimited plan they gave me 250 plan where I had to pay for every mb I use. I am too net savvy and I uses like 200 mb a day for browsing, didn't mention how much i downlaod in a day. Then after a week or two I got the 900 unlimited Plan.
Now I am just waiting for some other players other than BSNL or sify in Bareilly. I am really willing to pay any price to have a good broadband service as Net means a lot to me and I rely on Net to pay my bills and expenses. I earned a healthy sum in the last two years using Internet.

The Cursed Road - IVRI Bareilly

Monday, March 16, 2009
Its not more than a year and half, the road in Bareilly in front of the IVRI ( Indian Veterinary Research Institute) is back to its old shape. It connects the vehicles coming from Delhi, Nainital to Lucknow and Pilibhit. Its really pathetic to see them driving through it with a fear that the cursed road may take their lives not because it has High speed traffic or sharp turns but because the dumb or some corrupt authorities didn't paid attention to the material used on it. Its almost the same now as it was one and half year back, with patches of pits filled with sand and stone. Because of these patches heavy vehicles really pose a danger to the pedestrians and light vehicles in order to avoid these patches.
Over the last one year I have seen authorities repairing and constructing roads which really of not that use. Instead if they paid attention to that IVRI Road, things won't be like this.
Wake Up authorities Wake up.

Road Accidents Toll in Bareilly Higher than Terrorist Attacks

Wednesday, January 28, 2009
Everyday i woke up with a news headline that the Bareilly roads again took someones live. We people at Bareilly are so used to it that we never thought that the people killed in Road accidents in a city like Bareilly over a year is much higher than the causalities in a terrorist attack.

As a roughly figure, road accidents costs 1 - 2 lives a day which gives me a annual figure of almost 500 lives lost. Its almost 10 folds of what we usually lost in terrorist attacks in a year.

We blame our neighbouring countries for a terrorist attack but whom to blame for accident. We know its our own people and their selfishness that cost a life to someone. Sometimes its a drunken truck driver, a electric pole on a road, poor visibility, bad roads. Authorities don't care and wait for some newspapers headline to wake up. Its always their negligence that costs a life.

Bareilly is in great need of Bye pass to curve all the traffic coming from Delhi, Lucknow, Pilibhit, Nainital to pass it without going through the city.

Dominos Back in Bareilly with 25% Discount

Tuesday, January 27, 2009
Finally, Dominos back in Bareilly and as I recall almost after a span of 8- 10 years. Lifestyle of the people here changed a lot since then and youngsters now have enough pocket money that they can afford a dominos. And to attract people its offering a 25% discount as inaugural offer for limited time. With its location in D.D. Puram, its surrounded by the posh area of Bareilly will definitely lure people to go for home deliveries and will easily cover Rajendra Nagar, Mahanagar, Suncity, Northcity etc. so lets hope that one of the best pizza delivery service survives this time.
I don't know that whether they have that 30 minute service thing in Bareilly. It acctually varies from place to place and may be cause of the traffic problem in Bareilly they not going to offer Free Pizza if you not get it within 30 minutes of offer placed.

Dominos success will lure Pizza Hut, Pizza Time, Slice of Italy to come to Bareilly. Pizza Time and Slice of Italy offers good prices that one really don't mind paying for one meal. I really relish Slice of Italy's Choco choco. But above all Dominos Double Cheese Crunch Pizza and Chicken Wings drives me crazy.
